First, let us allow the Scriptures to tell us Who the Lord Jesus Christ really is.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Mathew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
John 14:7-9 If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him. Philip saith unto Him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
John 10:30 I and My Father are one.
These and many other Scriptures thus establish the Deity of Jesus Christ. Christ being God, and God being unchangeable, establishes Jesus Christ as the same yesterday, today and forever:
Hebrews 13:8 Malachi 3:6 For I AM the LORD, I change not;
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
The Lord Jesus Himself summarized His earthly ministry as follows:
Luke 7:22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way , and tell John what things ye have seen and heard ; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached .
Because He is the same yesterday, and today and for ever, the Lord Jesus Christ continues to do the same works today. You may ask how is that possible? After His resurrection from the dead and before He finally ascended back to Heaven, He gave authority to those who believed and those who will believe in him to do the same works He did:
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.
This Scripture has been fulfilled countless number of times through the centuries and it is being fulfilled TODAY. Christ Jesus, by His indwelling in those who believe in Him, continues the works He did during His earthly ministry to this day. Yes indeed, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever. AMEN.
