The Holy Scriptures open with the unambiguous and infallible declaration of how the earth came into being :
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Throughout the Bible, God gave mankind a progressive revelation of Himself.
The Genesis account of the creation indicated that not only did God create the earth, but everything that's in it including man:
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
After the creation of man, God planted a garden in the east of Eden and put man there:
Genesis 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed.
Every so often, God would visit man in the garden.
So was it after man had disobeyed the Word that God gave him, that God visited them:
Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
This disobedience to God's Word did not only separate him from God's fellowship, but caused man to be driven out of the garden of Eden:
Genesis 3:24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
This broken fellowship with God was spiritual death, which introduced physical death into the race:
Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Thus man died spiritually the day He sinned i.e. disobeyed God's Word.
But did man die physically the day he sinned?
Yes, using another method of God's reckoning of time - to God, a day is a thousand years!
II Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Every man that died physically died within 1000 years (God's one day) from birth!
The longest man has ever lived physically is 969 years, 31 years short of God's one day:
Genesis 5:27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
THE GOOD NEWS - God promised He would redeem man from the Fall.
This was succinctly stated by God in the following Scripture:
Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Here, God was talking to the devil who deceived Eve, the mother of all living, to doubt and then disobey God's Word:
Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
From Genesis 3:15, the rest of the Bible narration is God's implementation and fulfillment of His promise to redeem man.
This means God's restoration of fellowship with man, thus ending spiritual and physical death.
I Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death.
Since all men inherited the consequences (spiritual and physical death and all that go with them) of sin (disobedience of God's Word) from the first parents (Adam and Eve), the only One Who can redeem mankind from the Fall is God Himself.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
THE SEED OF THE WOMAN is God incarnating Himself in man to be born of a woman.
Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
JESUS CHRIST THE REDEEMER - was God in human form that redeemed man to Himself
Romans 5:15 But not as the offence, so also [is] the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, [which is] by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
THE CREATOR VISITED THE CREATION AGAIN
As it was in the garden of Eden before the fall of man through sin, God has visited mankind on earth in the Person of Jesus Christ to reconcile man unto Himself:
II Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them..
John 1:3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:10He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
Ephesians 3:9And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Colossians 1:16For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:
